About this Research Topic
This Research Topic focuses on mathematical modeling applied to understand, uncover, and utilize mechanisms involved in immune system responses at intracellular, tissue and physiological levels. We look forward to novel models supported by experimental and clinical data and bringing biologically or clinically relevant conclusions. The Topic’s goal is to advance knowledge in this area, to be utilized in new development of new molecular targets for future drugs and new therapy protocols. Through presenting original conclusions stemming from mathematical analyses, it should promote interdisciplinary research, linking molecular biologists, clinicians and modelers, showing benefits of mathematical support in clinically-oriented research.
We welcome researchers to submit Perspectives, Original Research articles and Reviews, focusing on development and analysis of mathematical models related to immune system dynamics, including but not limited to the following subtopics:
• Intracellular signaling pathways and regulatory networks associated with immune responses.
• Cellular responses to viral infections.
• Mechanisms of evading immune response by cancer cells.
• Intercellular interactions associated with immune system response.
• Model-based design of immunotherapy protocols.
• Autoimmune diseases dynamics and treatment.
Please NOTE: Manuscripts are required to go beyond showing their alignment with existing data and present analyses that advance knowledge in the area.
