About this Research Topic
The central aim is to explore and expand the frontiers of how GeoAI and location big data can be harnessed for landscape sustainability. This involves not only understanding the current state of technology and its applications but also identifying and addressing the existing gaps and challenges. The goal is to develop innovative strategies and solutions that can significantly contribute to sustainable landscape management. This includes the development of advanced spatial analysis tools, predictive modeling for environmental changes, and AI-driven decision-making frameworks. We aim to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue, bringing together experts from the fields of geospatial science, AI, environmental science, urban planning, and related disciplines. The ultimate objective is to leverage these cutting-edge technologies to promote a more sustainable interaction with our landscapes, ensuring ecological balance, resource efficiency, and resilience against environmental changes and challenges.
We encourage submissions of Original Research articles, Reviews, Case studies, and Method papers. Authors should focus on novel approaches, innovative applications, and comprehensive analyses that contribute significantly to the field. The contributions should not only demonstrate the application of GeoAI and location big data but should also critically examine their potential and limitations in the context of sustainable landscape management. Specific themes of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Acquisition and Management of Location Big Data;
• Data Management, Cleaning, and Integration Techniques;
• Geovisual Analytics for Sustainable Landscapes;
• Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive, and Prescriptive Analytics in Landscape Sustainability;
• Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) Applications;
• Human Spatial Behavior, Activity, and Mobility Analysis for Sustainable Landscapes;
• Place Modelling and Understanding for Landscape Management; and
• Social and Ethical Issues of Location Big Data and GeoAI in Landscape Sustainability.
We would like to acknowledge Dr. Siqi Lai is acting as a Topic coordinator and has contributed to the preparation of the proposal for this Research Topic.
