About this Research Topic
The aim of this Research Topic is to provide a comprehensive update on the current advancements in the pathogenesis and treatment of the rare tumors of the middle ear and temporal bone including paragangliomas, middle ear neuroendocrine tumors, endolymphatic sac tumors, middle ear squamous cell carcinoma and the vestibular schwannoma.
Systematic reviews on the biology and treatment strategies, Meta-analysis of treatment outcomes, and randomized clinical trials on new treatment approaches to of the tumors of the middle and inner ear according to the 5th edition of WHO classification of Head and Neck tumors are encouraged. New diagnostic methods and algorithms, and studies evaluating risk factors for the abovementioned neoplasms are encouraged.
