About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to address the challenge of mitigating damage caused by nutritional disorders in plants, focusing on the role of silicon (Si). Nutritional disorders in plants, resulting from deficiencies or excesses in essential elements, pose significant threats to agricultural productivity and food security worldwide. These disorders can lead to impaired growth, reduced yields, and increased susceptibility to diseases and environmental stresses. Recent advances in plant nutrition research have shed light on the importance of Si as a key element in mitigating these damages. A better understanding of how Si can positively influence plant response to nutritional disorders may lead to more effective strategies for improving crop health and productivity.
To gather further insights into the role of silicon in plant nutrition, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
