About this Research Topic
Artificial intelligence (AI) researchers have just recently started talking about AI and knowledge-infused machine learning. Researchers in Geoinformatics and GIScience naturally responded to the rapid growth of AI by proposing Earth AI and GeoAI as broad subjects to illustrate how AI has been adapted and used in Earth science and geography. Are there additional upgrades in various areas of Geoinformatics as a result of AI? Are geoscientists' work practices evolving as a result of new Geoinformatics techniques and technologies? Is it possible for other researchers to further their own work and gain from the successful applications.
This Research Topic aims to present studies on emerging trends and advancement of Geoinformatics applications in earth and environmental systems which includes Geo-AI and ML tools in the field of agriculture, forests, water, infrastructure, climate resilience, mineralogy, paleontology, archaeology, hydrology, geochemistry, geophysics, mineral exploration, geo-hazards, rural and urban development, techniques and modelling, Also new simulation techniques, and statistical approval on Multi & Hyperspectral Remote Sensing and UAV/Drone technology.
