About this Research Topic
In this Research Topic, we aim to tackle the problem of limited understanding on TBI susceptibility and outcomes. Recent advances in neuroimaging, finite element modeling, computational tools, biomarkers and their measurement techniques have shed light on TBI, offering promising avenues for improved patient care. By convening experts in the field, we seek to foster a deeper understanding of these influences and promote the development of biological-variation specific monitoring, prediction, and diagnostic tools and treatment strategies ultimately reducing the burden of TBI and enhancing the quality of treatment and life for TBI.
This Research Topic invites contributions that explore TBI. We welcome original research articles, systematic review, meta-analysis, clinical case studies, and review articles within the scope of the research topic. The submissions can include but not limited to the following subtopics:
• Brain anatomical and structural variances.
• Brain tissue and head impact kinematic responses.
• Develop computational tools, algorithms, and frameworks for TBI analysis.
• Hormonal dynamics
• Chemical and molecular responses.
• Computational modeling of traumatic brain injury.
• Neuroinflammatory responses and immune function.
• Cognitive and functional outcomes following TBI.
• Neuroimaging and biomarkers to study TBI.
Keywords: Traumatic Brain Injury, Sex Variations, Brain Imaging, Neuroinflammatory responses
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
