About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to deepen understanding and enhance the management of Lyme borreliosis and other tick-borne diseases by focusing on multidisciplinary strategies that address prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The goal is to improve patient outcomes by identifying the best practices for managing persistent infections, refining diagnostic tools, and developing therapeutic approaches that can mitigate the long-term consequences of these diseases.
To gather further insights in the management of tick-borne diseases, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Pathogenesis of persistent Lyme borreliosis infection.
- Evaluating treatment modalities for persistent Lyme borreliosis post-standard treatment.
- Optimal management strategies for diverse manifestations of Lyme disease, including neurological impacts.
- Clinical trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of new vaccines and treatment modalities.
- Real-world data on the effectiveness and safety of vaccinations and antibiotic treatments.
- Comparative studies on the epidemiology of Lyme borreliosis and its various clinical outcomes.
- Cost-effectiveness of treatments and vaccines from multiple healthcare perspectives.
