About this Research Topic
The aim of this research topic is to bring together current aspects of resistance research, research into bacterial resistance and virulence and host cell interactions in a joint consideration. We hope that the synergy of the results will provide new insights for further research and, above all, for the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases. In addition, epidemiological considerations will also be included.
Articles on the antimicrobial resistance of Gram-negative bacteria (especially but not exclusively genomic studies), the interaction between the pathogenesis of infections (host interaction in general, but also with a special focus on the immune system, the microbiome and host characteristics) and epidemiological studies on the spread of Gram-negative bacteria are welcome. Besides original research and short reports, mini-reviews and reviews can also be submitted.
Keywords: gram negative bacteria, pathogenesis, antimicrobial susceptibility and resistance, Host-bacterium interaction, epidemiology
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
