About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to recognize and promote the work of early career researchers who are poised to become future leaders in the field of antibiotic resistance. By showcasing high-quality research from scientists within 10 years of completing their terminal degrees, we aim to highlight cutting-edge advances in theory, experimental approaches, and methodologies that address pressing issues in antibiotic resistance. The goal is to identify and support the next generation of researchers who will drive innovation and provide solutions to combat antibiotic resistance effectively.
To gather further insights into the future directions of antibiotic resistance research, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Mechanisms of antibiotic resistance at the molecular and genetic levels
- Development of novel antimicrobial agents and therapeutic strategies
- Epidemiology and surveillance of antibiotic-resistant infections
- Impact of antibiotic resistance on public health and healthcare systems
- Innovative methodologies for studying and combating antibiotic resistance
- Policy and regulatory approaches to managing antibiotic resistance
- Interdisciplinary approaches combining microbiology, pharmacology, and public health
Keywords: Rising Stars, Antibiotic Resistance, New antimicrobial drugs
