About this Research Topic
Antibiotic resistance is a critical and rapidly evolving field within microbiology and pharmacology. The increasing prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria poses a significant threat to global health, leading to higher medical costs, prolonged hospital stays, and increased mortality. Despite extensive research, the mechanisms of resistance and the development of new antimicrobial drugs remain areas with substantial knowledge gaps. By showcasing high-quality research from scientists within 10 years of completing their terminal degrees, we aim to highlight cutting-edge advances in theory, experimental approaches, and methodologies that address pressing issues in antibiotic resistance. The goal is to identify and support the next generation of researchers who will drive innovation and provide solutions to combat antibiotic resistance effectively.
To gather further insights into the future directions of antibiotic resistance research, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
