About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to explore the transdisciplinary perspectives on climate change and human health, focusing on understanding and mitigating the adverse health impacts of climate change. The primary objectives include examining the reasons behind climate change, its effects on human health, and the role of adaptation and mitigation strategies. By addressing these questions, the research seeks to contribute to the development of climate-resilient health systems and communities, with a particular emphasis on protecting disadvantaged groups who are disproportionately affected by climate change.
To gather further insights into the transdisciplinary perspectives on climate change and human health, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
• importance of transdisciplinary approaches to climate change and health
• nexus between climate change, mental health, and wellbeing
• perspectives on the governance of climate and health
• public health responses to extreme weather conditions
• health impacts of climate change on minority and vulnerable populations
• indigenous health and local community responses
• economic assessments of climate health implications and adaptation efforts
• health and social costs of climate change
• nutritional impacts of climate change
