About this Research Topic
Recent advancements in single-cell analysis have introduced a transformative dimension to the field of immunotherapy. The technology's capacity to scrutinize individual immune cells within the tumor microenvironment and the immune system has allowed researchers to delve into previously inaccessible intricacies. This Research Topic is dedicated to addressing the challenges of predictive biomarkers by leveraging the innovative capabilities of single-cell research and technology. By examining the behaviors and interactions of individual immune cells, we aim to gain critical insights into the reasons behind varying responses to immunotherapy among different patients. These advancements in single-cell analysis not only enhance our understanding of immunotherapy but also hold the potential to unlock the key to personalized treatment, ultimately improving the effectiveness of immunotherapy approaches.
Given the significant clinical relevance of immunotherapy in these malignancies, this Research Topic primarily focuses on solid tumor types. The aim of this study is to utilize single-cell analysis to explore predictive markers for immunotherapy efficacy across various solid tumors, shedding light on the unique challenges and opportunities presented by different cancer types.
We extend an invitation to researchers in the field of cancer immunology, encompassing the realms of basic science, translational research, and clinical investigations. Our platform welcomes submissions of Original Research, Clinical Trials, Case Reports, Brief Research Reports, and Reviews, with a distinctive emphasis on, but not confined to, the following domains:
(1) Predictive markers for gauging immunotherapy response, spotlighting the utility of single-cell data;
(2) Markers linked with resistance to immunotherapy, delineated through the lens of single-cell techniques;
(3) Auto-antibody signatures as potential harbingers of treatment response, with a dedicated focus on single-cell analysis;
(4) Circulating markers that mirror the spectrum of responses to immunotherapy, fueled by single-cell perspectives;
(5) Gene signatures synonymous with favorable outcomes from immunotherapy, harnessing the potential of single-cell technology;
(6) Cellular markers that amplify our ability to identify patients primed for a positive response to immunotherapy, aided by single-cell methodologies.
Please NOTE: Manuscripts exclusively dedicated to bioinformatics or computational analysis of publicly available genomic or transcriptomic databases, lacking robust and contextually pertinent validation within clinical cohorts or biological validation in vitro or in vivo, fall outside the purview of this research topic.
