While there is a dearth of high-quality evidence directly comparing the effectiveness of robotic surgery to open surgery, the use of robotic approaches has significantly promoted the adoption of minimally invasive surgical methods. This has led to reduced surgical complications and shorter hospital stays.
Emerging robotic platforms hold the promise of exploring innovative surgical approaches, and advancing technologies may enhance surgical navigation and the real-time identification of anatomical structures during surgery, enabling more precise and personalized surgical procedures.
