About this Research Topic
The aim of this Research Topic is to put together a collection of papers contributed by leaders in the fields of multicomponent reactions (e.g. Ugi, Passerini, Biginelli), who will argue for the advantages of such synthetic strategies in terms of sustainable chemistry. There will be emphasis on the preparation of photoactive, light-emitting molecules such as BODIPYs, that are of enormous interest as markers in biochemistry and medicinal chemistry. The molecular structure of the molecules of interest will be reported by experts in X-ray diffraction analysis and the interesting conformational behavior exhibited by these molecules will be discussed by experts in variable-temperature dynamic NMR and/or computational modelling.
We welcome Original Research, Review, Mini Review and Perspective articles on themes including, but not limited to:
• Multi-component reactions.
• Synthesis of photo-responsive, light-emitting molecules.
• Conformational analysis of pharmacologically-active organic, inorganic, and biomolecules.
• X-ray diffraction structural analysis of interesting organic, inorganic and biomolecules.
• Multinuclear and variable-temperature NMR studies in conformational analysis.
• Theoretical and computational conformational analysis.
Keywords: Multicomponent reactions, Dynamic NMR, X-ray diffraction structural analysis, Conformational analysis, Computational modelling
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
