About this Research Topic
The targeted and untargeted application of metabolomics to physiology can help with a rapid screening of the majority of metabolites and detect potential changes in their concentrations leading to a better understanding of complex physiological, biological and biochemical interactions in various models.
This Research Topic aims to highlight mass spectrometry and/or NMR applications of physiological samples in various fields of physiology.
Metabolomics studies pertinent to all areas of physiology and pathophysiology in cell, animal and human models specifically studies related to cell physiology, metabolic physiology, mitochondrial physiology, lipids and fatty acids research are invited to submit their original data to this Research Topic.
Keywords: Metabolomics, Cell Physiology, Animal Physiology, Biomarkers of diseases, Multidisciplinary approaches in physiological studies, Nutrition, Machine learning
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
