Organizational Health Culture (OHC) is an emerging field within occupational health, focusing on the promotion of healthy behaviors and lifestyles in the workplace. Unlike the more established safety culture, OHC is still developing its frameworks and methodologies for effective measurement and implementation. Current research highlights the significant role OHC plays in enhancing workplace health interventions and improving individual workers' health outcomes. However, the complexity of OHC assessment is compounded by its close ties to sociodemographic factors, which vary widely across different industries and regions. While efforts are being made to create generalizable tools for measuring OHC, the most effective approaches are often industry-specific. This complexity is further heightened by ethnic and geographical variations, necessitating a more nuanced understanding of OHC's role in health promotion. Despite ongoing research, there remains a gap in comprehensive tools and strategies that can be universally applied across diverse occupational settings.
This research topic aims to showcase validated tools for evaluating OHC in various occupational settings and to assess how OHC impacts occupational health interventions and overall worker health. Additionally, the research seeks to highlight the global diversity of OHC, focusing on recent advances in tailoring assessment tools to specific sectors, cross-cultural studies on OHC perception and implementation, and the integration of sociodemographic components into OHC assessments. By exploring these areas, the research aims to demonstrate both the direct and indirect effects of OHC on workers' health and to clarify its role as a determinant, mediator, or effect modifier in occupational health interventions.
