About this Research Topic
The Research Topic invites articles focused on retinal imaging techniques (such as optical coherence tomography, fundus photography, adaptive optics, etc.) and their relevance in studying neurodegenerative disorders, the importance of non-invasive retinal assessments for early detection, monitoring, and potential biomarker identification, studies of how neurodegenerative changes in the brain can manifest in the retina and exploration of the potential advantages and limitations of using the retina for studying central nervous system disorders including dementia, movement disorders, neurodegeneration, inflammatory and other diseases.
Keywords: neurodegeneration, neurodegenerative disorders, retina, retina imaging, pathophysiology, non-invasive retinal assessments
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
