About this Research Topic
The symposium is an international platform to bring pollination biologists together and discuss latest developments in the science. It is being held in South Africa in October 2023 to increase awareness of the importance of pollination in the network of life.
The problem to be addressed is the insufficiency of knowledge on pollinators and pollination. The symposium aspires to address this shortfall by bringing scientists together to discuss recent advances in pollination biology, develop research collaborations, and to bring people in all walks of life together to create a general awareness of the importance of pollinators in the web of life.
Themes including floral advertisement, plant pollinator interaction, climate change, land use, taxonomy, crop pollination and traditional knowledge will be presented. The manuscripts that we are interested in are those from the symposium themes. This collection is also open to global submissions, independent of the Symposium.
Keywords: Pollinators, Pollination, Crops, Conservation, Climate Change
