About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to promote the convergence of micro/nano processing, nanotechnology, brain-machine interfaces, artificial intelligence, and other related medical applications. Particular interest will be paid to the innovative application areas that can improve upon existing devices for brain-machine interfaces, healthcare monitoring, and medical therapy. For example, neurotransmitter concentration is very low in the brain and disturbed by chemicals. The action potential signal is extremely weak and easy to drown in the background noise. New nanometer material modification of implantable electrodes array can break through the neurotransmitter release and action potential high sensitive detection technology.
This Research Topic takes brain science and related medical applications as the starting points, focusing on theoretical and applied research on the design and manufacture of new micro/nano devices, artificial intelligence analysis algorithms, integrated and intelligent systems, and so on. The Research Topic solicits the submission of different types of articles (e.g., Original Research, Brief Report, Review, Mini Review, Opinion, Perspective, etc.). Areas of interest for this Research Topic include, but are not limited to:
• Biosensors, methods, and systems for weak biosignal detection
• Design and application of Implantable Brain-computer interfaces
• Methods and algorithms for cognitive neural mechanisms, brain development, and neurological disease diagnosis
• Advanced approaches for flexible/soft biosensors, Micro-nano biosensors
• Self-powered devices for healthcare monitoring and treatment
• Other new devices for cell regulation and tissue therapy
• Wearable electronics for personalized treatment
• Neural imaging or signal processing methods
• Instruments for developing neuroscience
