About this Research Topic
This editorial initiative, led by Dr. Leonardo Roever, Specialty Chief Editor of the Cardioneurology section, aims to explore the latest insights, novel developments, and future perspectives in the field of cardioneurology. The primary objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of the progress made over the past decade, identify the greatest challenges currently facing the field, and propose potential solutions. Specific questions to be addressed include: What are the underlying mechanisms linking cardiovascular and neurological conditions? How can we improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment efficacy for patients with comorbid cardiovascular and neurological diseases? What are the future directions for research in this interdisciplinary field?
To gather further insights in the complex interactions between the cardiovascular and nervous systems, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Mechanisms linking cardiovascular and neurological conditions
- Diagnostic approaches for comorbid cardiovascular and neurological diseases
- Treatment strategies for patients with cardioneurological conditions
- Impact of cardiovascular health on cognitive function and vice versa
- Role of neuroimaging in understanding cardioneurological interactions
- Future directions and emerging technologies in cardioneurology research
