About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to gather a comprehensive collection of articles from various fields, including cell biology, cellular biochemistry, biophysics, and computational biology, to explore the interactions between the plasma membrane and the cortical cytoskeleton. The primary goal is to address specific questions related to the molecular dynamics at the plasma membrane, the role of cytoskeletal proteins in modulating these dynamics, and the emerging influence of glycans. By testing hypotheses and examining these interactions through novel methodologies, the research aims to elucidate the contributions of each component to cellular functions.
To gather further insights into the complex interplay between the plasma membrane and the cortical cytoskeleton, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Links and interactions between the plasma membrane and the cortical cytoskeleton.
- Molecular dynamics at the plasma membrane and the cortical cytoskeleton.
- Advances in imaging the ultrastructure of the plasma membrane and cortical cytoskeleton.
- Development of tools, techniques, and methods contributing to the study of molecular dynamics and interactions between the plasma membrane and the cytoskeleton cortex.
- Computational modeling studies addressing the interplay between the plasma membrane and the cell cortex.
