About this Research Topic
In view of the rapid development in the area, we propose a Research Topic focused on the recent development of chemiresistive gas sensors. The topics cover various advanced nanomaterials, which could address the problems of high working temperatures, long response/recovery time, and unclear sensing mechanisms. Research on novel sensing principles or functions in the nanoscale is also encouraged. Both original research findings and review articles are welcomed. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
• Nanomaterials with novel gas-sensing properties;
• Nanomaterial hybrids/heterostructures with enhanced sensing properties (selectivity, operating temperature, sensitivity, frequency response, linearity range, stability, accuracy, and so on);
• Theoretical and experimental understanding of the relationship between the structure of nanomaterials and sensing performance;
• Theory, modeling, and numerical simulation of nanomaterials and sensing application;
• Nanomaterials could be used in multifunctional gas sensors.
