About this Research Topic
In order to explore this fast-growing field, Frontiers is launching a new series of Research Topics focusing on the evolution of methods, processes, techniques and ways of thinking in the Cardiovascular field that lead to new discoveries and research approaches. In this article collection, we seek contributions exploring the changing context and the rising new perspectives within Cardiovascular MedTech.
The emphasis of this series is on the dynamics of change and evolution of the latest progresses made, as well as on the evolving methods and responses in research in the field of Cardiovascular MedTech surrounding the development of technologies and treatments, across a broad range of topics that are relevant to cardiovascular medical implants and devices, applied to the coronary system (including coronary vasculature and structural heart), the broader vascular system (including abdominal, thoracic, peripheral and cerebral vasculature, etc.), and the associated diseases and conditions of these systems .
This article collection will inform, inspire and provide direction and guidance to researchers in the field.
Topics may include, but are by no means limited to:
• Permanent, biodegradable, smart implants and devices
• delivery technologies
• electrical stimulation and denervation
• soft robotics
• device control and actuation
• analytical and computational mechanics (solids and fluids)
• in-vitro, ex-vivo and in-vivo testing
• electrical and electronic engineering
• rapid and additive manufacturing
• data analytics
Keywords: Cardiovascular Technology, vascular system, cardiovascular medical implant, stent technology, smart implants, vascular diseases
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
