Vascular tumors encompass a wide range of diseases including infantile hemangioma, congenital hemangioma, kaposiform hemangioendothelioma, and others. The pathogenesis, diagnosis, and medical management of vascular tumors have been a focal point of research. In 2018, the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies established guidelines to enhance the classification of vascular anomalies, leading to significant advancements in research on vascular tumors. With a better understanding of vascular tumors and the increasing use of technologies like next-generation sequencing, there has been a significant increase in the number of published studies on vascular tumor research in recent years. At present, there are several unresolved issues concerning childhood vascular tumors, including the pathogenesis of vascular tumors, the diagnosis of rare and complex vascular tumors, and the effective medical management of vascular tumors. To address these issues, numerous efforts have been made, such as using more advanced scientific and technological equipment, applying more precise diagnostic equipment, and holding multidisciplinary team meetings to advance targeted therapies due to a deeper understanding of vascular tumors. All of these efforts require abundant clinical trials and basic studies to provide trustworthy scientific experiments and clinical experimental guidance for researchers globally who are working on childhood vascular tumors. Therefore, this Research Topic aims to concentrate on clinical and basic studies of childhood vascular tumors. We welcome submissions covering a range of sub-topics related to childhood vascular tumors, including but not limited to the following:
1) Novel findings in the pathogenesis of childhood vascular tumors
2) Advanced and simple diagnostic methods for rare and complex childhood vascular tumors
3) Effective drug delivery for childhood vascular tumors
4) Targeted therapy for childhood vascular tumors
5) Clinical studies on the treatment of childhood vascular tumors
6) Emerging findings in the medical management of childhood vascular tumors
Please note: manuscripts consisting solely of bioinformatics or computational analysis of public genomic or transcriptomic databases which are not accompanied by validation (independent cohort or biological validation in vitro or in vivo) are out of scope for this section and will not be accepted as part of this Research Topic.
