About this Research Topic
The primary aim of this research topic is to explore the role of SRS/SBRT in the treatment of oligometastatic disease, particularly in the context of multiple oligometastases and re-irradiation after prior SBRT. It also seeks to understand the interaction and toxicities of SBRT with new systemic treatments, particularly relating to the efficacy and safety of these treatments, as well as their potential to improve patient outcomes.
The scope of this research topic is defined by its focus on the role of SRS/SBRT in the treatment of oligometastatic disease. We welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
● Treatment options for patients with multiple concurrent oligometastases.
● Outcomes and toxicities of re-irradiation after prior SBRT.
● Interaction and toxicities of SBRT with new systemic treatments.
● The potential of these treatments to improve patient outcomes.
Please note: Manuscripts consisting solely of bioinformatics, computational analysis, or predictions of public databases which are not accompanied by validation (independent clinical or patient cohort, or biological validation in vitro or in vivo, which are not based on public databases) are not suitable for publication in this journal.
Keywords: radiation oncology, Oligometastatic disease, Stereotactic radiosurgery, SRS, stereotactic body radiation therapy, SBRT
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
