About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to bring together research articles, reviews, and case studies that focus on the recent advancements in the diagnosis of infections from a multidisciplinary perspective: microbiological, clinical, molecular, and histopathological approaches to diagnosis will be collected, highlighting the importance of the collaboration among the specialists in the management of infectious diseases.
Topics of interest:
• Development and validation of novel microbiological diagnostic tools and techniques
• Application of genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics in the diagnosis of infections
• Role of imaging and molecular diagnostics in the diagnosis of infectious diseases
• Clinical presentation and diagnosis of viral, bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections
• Pathological aspects of infectious diseases and their implications in diagnosis
• Diagnosis of infections in special populations (pediatric, geriatric, immunocompromised)
The Research Topic will be of interest to clinicians, microbiologists, pathologists, epidemiologists, public health professionals, and researchers working in the field of infectious diseases.
The proposed special issue aims to provide a platform for researchers to share their latest research findings, reviews, and case studies related to the diagnosis of infections. The issue will offer valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in the diagnosis of infectious diseases and the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in improving diagnostic accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
