About this Research Topic
This Research Topic seeks original contributions that describe the current applications of the use of artificial intelligence to extract information from brain activity and other physiological data obtained from noninvasive techniques, as well as the current trends and challenges. This is intended to provide an insight into the current status of these kinds of applications and their excepted advancements or risks in the near future.
Themes of this Research Topic include (but are not limited to) studies that involve artificial intelligence and noninvasive biomedical signals with the following applications in neuroscience:
• Brain computer-interfaces
• Robotic systems
• Smart health
• Serious or nonserious games
• Individual or group assessment
Manuscripts related to the use of artificial intelligence to extract information from brain activity should be submitted to Frontiers in Neuroinformatics.
Manuscripts related to the use of artificial intelligence to extract information from other physiological data (not the brain) should be submitted to Frontiers in Robotics and AI (Biomedical Robotics section).
Manuscripts related to Brain Computer interfaces should be submitted to Frontiers in Human Neuroscience (Brain-Computer Interfaces section).
Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Physiological Signals, EEG, EMG, ECG, BCI, BMI
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
