With the increased availability of noninvasive devices to acquire biomedical signals and the growth of artificial intelligence methods, there is interest in combining both approaches to exploit the information that can be extracted from brain activity and other physiological signals in a wide variety of applications aimed to support diagnosis and treatments in the healthcare field, produce recreation activities for individuals, or provide means to assist or assess either users or groups, among other potential applications.
This Research Topic seeks original contributions that describe the current applications of the use of artificial intelligence to extract information from brain activity and other physiological data obtained from noninvasive techniques, as well as the current trends and challenges. This is intended to provide an insight into the current status of these kinds of applications and their excepted advancements or risks in the near future.
Themes of this Research Topic include (but are not limited to) studies that involve artificial intelligence and noninvasive biomedical signals with the following applications in neuroscience:
• Brain computer-interfaces
• Robotic systems
• Smart health
• Serious or nonserious games
• Individual or group assessment
