About this Research Topic
As the human interaction with robots increases, so do the requirements for safety and control in these encounters. Collision detection, obstacle avoidance, navigation, and localization are a few of the requirements to look in robotics going further as science expands. These can be achieved by using sensors, including LiDAR, imaging/vision sensors (cameras), tactile sensors, and ultrasonic sensors.
With the advancement of machine vision technology, cameras are becoming increasingly important in robots, as such, this topic is focused on vision sensors for safety and control in robotics.
The topic welcomes submission of Original Research, Review, Mini Review, and Perspective articles on themes including, but not limited to:
- Cameras
- LiDAR
- Imaging sensors
Keywords: Sensors, safety, control, cameras, detection
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
