About this Research Topic
There is a need for the discovery of accurate and effective biomarkers that can be used as therapeutic targets for treatment. The challenge of finding viable therapeutic targets can be attributed to the diversity of cells involved, the limited capacity for tissue regeneration, and the lack of understanding complex pathological processes and their regulatory mechanisms. Transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, among other omics data analysis have enabled the prediction of novel interactions between different molecules. However, new approaches including integration of multi-omics regulatory network analysis can move us toward a more complete overview of the regulatory landscape and help to elucidate important mechanisms involved in neurodegenerative disorders.
This Research Topic aims to highlight innovative research that discusses the open questions related to regulatory mechanisms involved in any type of neurodegenerative disorder. This can be accomplished by utilizing different methods of gene network analysis. We welcome investigators to submit their Original Research, Brief Research Report, and Review articles.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Use of computational systems biology approaches;
• Integration of computational methods including single-cell multi-omics network analysis;
• Application of machine learning algorithms to predict regulatory networks;
• Use of global interaction networks;
• Validation of predicted biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders.
