About this Research Topic
While there has been a fair amount of regenerative medicine research, the articles are generally spread-out among the many journals of the field and basic science journals. These therapies can help the field understand the pathophysiology of these disorders, the mechanism of action of the therapies, as well as become potential treatments for future patients. While some of these approaches are in clinical trials and some are still in the early stages of investigation; the field would benefit from having a collection of articles investigating these new treatments to help advance the knowledge of these potential new therapies. Additionally, new techniques or methodology used in model to assess recovery could be adapted for uses in a new model.
This Research Topic is looking for paper that investigate regenerative medicine therapies in the urological conditions of underactive and overactive bladder, stress urinary incontinence (female & male), erectile dysfunction, interstitial cystitis, benign prostate hyperplasia, urological tissue regeneration, kidney ischemia and neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction. These articles could investigate treatment regimens, dosage, mechanism of action of the therapy, new techniques to assess recovery or lead to new insights into pathophysiology of the urological condition. Animal and clinical studies are both welcome. Review articles will be considered, on a case by case bases.
