About this Research Topic
The aim of this research topic is to showcase the state-of-art research in the field of tissue engineering, cell therapy, gene therapy, and drug therapy.
The present Research Topic will highlight the latest cutting-edge developments in the area of tissue engineering and provide a comprehensive overview of new approaches for drug analysis and delivery, including the integration of AI-assisted approaches in personalized medicine.
We welcome submissions of Original Research, Reviews, Mini Reviews, and Perspectives that are relevant to this article collection that will cover topics such as (but are not limited to):
• Advances in tissue engineering (cells, scaffolds, biofactors), e.g. artificial skin, bone and cartilage repair
• Novel strategies and technologies in cell/gene/drug therapy in targeted cancer or infectious diseases e.g. CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing
• AI and Translational medicine as a new tool for patients monitoring and biomarkers efficacy e.g. image analysis, prognosis and diagnosis, and drug prediction targets combining various kinds of data
• Novel natural and synthetic compounds as drug therapy e.g. plant-based natural products and human-made chemicals
