About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to explore the interplay between coastal marine environmental dynamics and ecosystem protection, which facilitates a better understanding of promoting sustainable development in coastal areas. We welcome Original Research and Review articles addressing the advances and applications of remote sensing techniques, in-situ investigations, theoretical analyses, laboratory experiments, numerical simulations, and machine learning models.
Potential themes for publication include, but are not limited to:
• Analytical and numerical approaches on investigating coastal marine environmental dynamics, e.g., mechanisms and characteristics of coastal marine sediment formation
• Analytical and numerical approaches on examining coastal marine ecosystem protection, e.g., impacts of tides, coastal erosion, and human activities on coastal marine ecosystems
• Quantitative risk analysis of geological disasters in coastal areas, e.g., offshore landslides, coastal dike breach flood, tsunami susceptibility, and hazard mapping at different scales
• Assessment of marine resources development, e.g., design and maintenance of structures for marine culture and marine new energy facilities
Keywords: coastal marine environmental dynamics, coastal marine ecosystem protection, disaster prevention and mitigation, quantitative risk analysis, marine resources development
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
