About this Research Topic
Autism Awareness Day was established in 2008 by the United Nations and has been observed since to raise global awareness and promote advocacy related to all aspects of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This year marks the 15th annual World Autism Awareness Day. To celebrate this date and spotlight autism research, Frontiers is organizing a series of article collections around the World Autism Awareness Day 2023.
This Research Topic will be used as a platform to shine a light on the latest state-of-the-art research advancing our understanding of ASD. This topic is also an opportunity to highlight the challenges in the field, as well as the importance of early intervention, diagnosis, and support.
Topics may include but are by no means limited to:
· Novel approaches in therapeutic interventions for autism
· Neurobiological underpinnings of autism – including neuroimaging studies
· Speech and language processing in children and adolescents
· Early detection and early interventions
· Experiences of families of individuals with ASD
We welcome Original Research, Reviews, Mini Reviews, Systematic Reviews, Methods, and Perspectives articles.
