About this Research Topic
Pelvic floor disorders comprise a wide range of pathologies that require the involvement of multiple specialists in their evaluation. Anatomical disorders not always are related to functional disorders and patients usually show a mixed pattern of symptoms.
A multidisciplinary evaluation should always be accomplished and should involve proctologists, urologists, gynecologists and pelvic floor rehabilitation specialists. Therefore, surgery and rehabilitation have to act together to take care of these patients.
This Research Topic would involve specialists from different branches and contribute to the dialogue and to the creation of collaborations among them.
The purpose of this Research Topic is to collect Original Research, Reviews as well as Clinical Trials concerning the following aspects, but not limited to:
-Rectal Prolapse
-Pelvic Organ Prolapse
-Fecal Incontinence
-Urinary Incontinence
-Obstructed Defecation Syndrome
-Rectocele
