About this Research Topic
Reviews in Acute Stroke and Interventional Therapies will publish high-quality scholarly review papers on key topics in the field of acute stroke therapies. Over the past two decades, the care for patients with acute stroke has been greatly improved thanks to the advancement in drugs, therapeutic devices, and imaging modalities. This review collection aims to highlight recent advances in the field and identify the unmet clinical need, whilst emphasizing important directions and new possibilities for future inquiries. We anticipate this collection of reviews will spark discussions and new ideas among clinicians, scientists, and engineers and promote interdisciplinary collaborations to translate novel interventional therapies for acute stroke from the lab to the patients’ bedside.
The Reviews in Acute Stroke and Interventional Therapies collection welcomes full-length, mini or systematic reviews on clinical and translational studies on, but not limited to, the following topics:
- Safety, efficacy, and the latest advancement of thrombectomy devices
- Safety, efficacy, and the latest advancement of thrombolytic agents
- Thrombolysis and thrombectomy for medium and distal vessel occlusions
- Histological, physical, and imaging characteristics of clots causing stroke and their implications to pathophysiology, stroke etiology, treatment methods, and patient outcome
- In vitro and in vivo animal models for acute stroke
- Neuroprotective agents and devices
- Stroke telemedicine
