About this Research Topic
Innovative bio-based strategies are increasingly being implemented to mitigate the effects of biological and abiotic stress. Bio-based strategies need to be integrated into agronomy and supported by different trials. In addition, the discussion of new approaches and ideas on this subject will contribute significantly to the growth of new products and targets in the future.
This Research Topic aims to provide information and contribute to the adaptation of bio-based techniques to sustainable farming systems, reduction of yield losses, their effects on different plant development stages, and the interactions between physiological, biochemical, and molecular mechanisms.
In this Research Topic, we will discuss novel strategies as well as the function of bio-based materials and ingredients against biotic and abiotic stress in sustainable agriculture. Thus, we welcome submissions on the below:
• Methods and techniques for innovative bio-based strategies in sustainable agriculture
• The use of bio-based strategies for increasing plant tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses in important growth stages
• Seed priming techniques with bio-based and sustainable materials
• Novel and sustainable strategies to manage plant protection and postharvest decay of fruit, vegetables
Descriptive studies that report responses to abiotic stress treatments without contributing to the mechanistic, or genetic, understanding of the responses observed will not be considered for peer review.
