About this Research Topic
We have seen great progress in stem cell research in the past decades. Major achievements made in the translational research have promoted the clinical applications of stem cells, stem cell-derived cells, and stem cell-targeted therapies. This Research Topic aims to cover recent and novel translational research on the application of stem cell biology in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, as well as immune-, inflammation-, and malignancy-relevant disorders.
In this special issue, we welcome original research articles, review articles, methods, and perspectives. Preferred subtopics include but not limited to:
- Advanced technologies and strategies to help develop stem cell-based or stem cell-derived products, namely cellular, tissue-based, and combination products.
- Studies on immunogenicity, xenogenicity, genetic and epigenetic instability, scalability, cell and tissue delivery, in vivo cell fate monitoring (survival/engraftment, distribution, integration, differentiation, and tumorigenicity).
Keywords: stem cell, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, in vivo application, translational research
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
