About this Research Topic
The development of thermal and electrochemical energy storage has attracted considerable interest due to the energy crisis and environmental pollution worldwide. Fuel cells, battery and supercapacitors, heat storage devices, etc. are the most promising energy storage technologies to efficiently utilize and save energy sources. However, the application of these energy storage devices is still limited due to the issues of high cost, low energy conversion, instability, etc. Considerable improvements require breakthroughs in advanced materials development, further component optimal designs, and system configuration and control strategy solutions. Numerical simulation, experimental characterization, policy planning, and more original and meaningful work are contributing to the competitiveness of these energy storage technologies.
