About this Research Topic
1. Examination of physical and cognitive behavior
2. Continuous measurement (not only in well-equipped facilities)
3. Risk estimation from vital measurement data
4. Physical (robotics, exoskeleton) and Virtual (VR, AR) methods with AI
5. Streamlining and automating administrative tasks on rehabilitation
The objective of this research topic is to explore the following questions: What are the benefits of AI for rehabilitation? How do we use AI for rehabilitation?
Rehabilitation has a medical side and a psychological side. For example, accurate measurement shows the progress of physical movements. This provides objective results for the activities of rehabilitation specialists. It also gives patients a strong motivation to continue with rehabilitation. We seek fundamental research on AI techniques that can be applied to rehabilitation. We also expect case reports and evidence of AI-based approaches in various rehabilitation activities.
Areas to be covered may include, but are not limited to:
1. AI techniques for measurement analysis of body movements (e.g. AI image analysis and estimation)
2. AI techniques for measurement analysis of speech (e.g. AI sound analysis and estimation)
3. AI techniques for measurement analysis of cognitive activities (e.g. AI analysis and estimation of human cognitive abilities, communication aid, etc.)
4. Sentence analysis and generation for rehabilitation activities (e.g. analysis of treatment records)
5. Automatic measurement and analysis in everyday situations
6. Psychological evaluation of accurate AI analysis (e.g. motivation)
7. Case studies and perspectives
