About this Research Topic
The aim of this Research Topic is to bring together the latest research findings and advances, typical applications, key methods, and prospects on biosensors for food, environmental and agricultural applications. It also showcases how these up-and-coming sensing platforms through addressing the detection challenges are approaching ideal biosensors that can be broadly exploited for a wide variety of targets, including inorganic/organic targets, biomacromolecules (DNA, RNA, etc) and microorganisms, for food safety, agricultural and environmental analysis. All in all, we hope this special issue presents a real biosensor feast.
This Research Topic will accept submissions of different articles types about the development and fabrication of biosensors for food, environmental, and agricultural application, such as original research articles, (mini) reviews, short communications, and perspectives that cover areas including, but not limited to:
• Emerging biosensing strategies for food, environmental, and agricultural detectors
• Microfluidic devices
• Paper-based biosensors
• Nucleic acid isothermal amplification for detection
• DNA biosensor/aptasensor
• CRISPR/Cas-enabled biosensing and analytical methods
• Nanomaterial-based biosensor
•Portable device-based biosensor
•Biosensor for food, environmental, and agricultural application
Keywords: microfluidics, biosensor, food safety, agricultural biosensor, environmental analysis
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
