About this Research Topic
The focus of this Research Topic will be the investigation of technology’s impact on cognitive and intellective processes highlighting how intensively technology can change and/or enhance the cognitive functioning throughout the lifespan.
The aim of this Research Topic will be to provide an outlook through multidisciplinary research and development addressing the dynamic intersection of cognition, mind, and technology. Our scope will be: 1) favoring the cognitive technology debating, 2) overcoming the dichotomies technology/psychology, 3) emphasizing the human improved knowledge and wellness. This Research Topic will be articulated by review studies, original articles, opinion articles focused on digital skills as enhancing of human potential; transversal approaches will be encouraged because the main method. Cross-sectorial analysis will interest investigation areas linked to the human cognitive and mental processing (educational, rehabilitation, clinical settings) across aging. High relevance will have the a) research in human performance and human factors, b) new research and technologies addressing the needs of a growing populace experiencing, and c) cognitive aging and cognitive rehabilitation research.
A section of this Research Topic will be dedicated to European Research & Innovation Actions. This Research Topic will be a platform to outline the acquired knowledge and the future research trends for technology and human linkage into the European Research Programme and Networking.
