About this Research Topic
Advances in computational solutions have allowed for fast modelling of vessel morphology and physiology using a widespread of imaging modalities. Angiography-based FFR guided PCI is superior to angiography-guided PCI. More recently, plaque characterization using AI-assisted analysis of angiography and intracoronary imaging data showed promising results.
This Research Topic will focus on latest advances of development, modification, and clinical application in novel indices of computational morphofunctional assessment of coronary artery disease.
We welcome submissions on the following topics, but are not limited to:
- Novel indices for computational morphofunctional assessment of coronary artery disease.
- Reproducibility comparison of different modalities for morphofunctional assessment.
- Clinical applicability of morphofunctional assessment in acute coronary syndromes.
- Outcome studies evaluating the prognostic impact of morphofunctional assessment in coronary artery disease.
- Feasibility of computational morphofunctional assessment to guide and optimize percutaneous coronary intervention.
Keywords: coronary angiography, coronary physiology, intravascular imaging, quantitative flow ratio, plaque vulnerability
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements.
