About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to discuss the use of various biological and biophysical technologies in the process of skin injury and its repair, which is beneficial for us to have a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the physiological and pathophysiological mechanisms of skin injury and skin injury repair. On this basis, with the use of biological technology, biophysics, bioengineering, and other technologies (including basic and translational medical research), repair of skin injuries could be achieved. Therefore, we welcome submissions on the following topics:
• Mechanisms of inflammation in wound healing;
• Mechanisms of epithelial proliferation and remodeling during skin repair;
• Mechanism of scar formation during wound healing;
• Skin repair during skin aging;
• Biomaterials and tissue engineering materials for skin repair.
Keywords: Skin, wound healing, aging, repair, appendage, scar, hair follicles, sweat glands
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
