Background

This Research Topic on the Collaborative economy CE5P (Planet, People, Partnership, Prosperity, and Peace) aims to respond to the current multi-crises through expert research oriented on the topics around 5 Ps and intends to provide academic solutions, to sustainable development in its current economic, social, environmental, informational, and technological aspects.

Nowadays, digitalization and sustainability are concepts present in all fields of activity and in our everyday life. Where digitization is a more recent phenomenon, sustainability issues have been a concern since the last century and continue to be until today with the same magnitude. Multiple crises and progress made in research have led scientists to identify new sustainable solutions both at the level of the behavior of the People (knowing changes in the health crisis), at the level of the Planet (the energy crisis in the context of climate change and the application of the European Green Agreement and the Global Green Agreement), at the level of Partnerships (in the context of crises of conflicts between states, dialogue through partnerships could limit these crises), at the level of Poverty (the crisis of resources, and the innovative solutions to limit this crisis), and last but not least at the level of Peace (the crisis conflicts, respectively wars, can be limited by the solutions offered by researchers in the field of peace and negotiations in conflict areas). In this sense, we propose this Research Topic focused on the 5 Ps with specific elements oriented towards the concept of the collaborative economy and being directly connected to the current societal paradigms.

The collaborative economy due to the underlying factors (economic, cultural, social, technological, and environmental) can be considered both as an economic model and, above all, as a current influence of the new societal development. In this collection, we aim to present why such an economic model is optimal for the sustainable development of economies at each state level. Moreover, because of technological evolution, new business models have emerged, shifting the concept of the collaborative economy towards the type of innovative economy. From a conceptual point of view, the "collaborative economy" covers a very wide range of topics, therefore, we aim to focus on research that presents original empirical topics, application-oriented collaborative economy models, and new data sources. In addition, we welcome articles that develop new theoretical and fundamental multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary contributions.
