About this Research Topic
Nanomaterials and nanostructures exhibit extraordinary properties, such as drug loading and environment-responsiveness, which made them a good fit for disease diagnosing and therapy. Investigations on physiochemical properties of nanomaterials, such as size, geometry, surface features, photo and mechanical properties, chemical stability, porosity, biocompatibility, and biological properties of toxicity, targetability and therapeutic efficiency lay the foundations to develop personalized nanomedicines and precision diagnosis. This topic aims to provide insights into recent trends and novel materials that are developed for diagnosing and therapeutic applications. The topic is to collect research in nanomaterial-based cancer or pathogen diagnosis, therapeutic polymers or nanomaterials, drug and gene delivery systems, combinational therapy, and multifunctional nanostructures.
Submissions for Original Research, Review, Mini Review and Perspective articles are all welcome. Interested areas are, but not limited to:
• Novel nanostructures for therapy and imaging, such as organic/inorganic structures and hybrid nanostructures
• Synthetic, natural and biomimetic diagnosis and nanomedicine systems
• Precision drug and gene delivery systems
• Experimental, computing and simulation techniques to characterize physicochemical properties of diagnosis and therapeutic nanomaterials
• Theoretical and experimental investigations on the in vivo behavior of nanomaterials
• Technology which used for high-throughput screening, design and validation of diagnosis and therapeutic nanomaterials
• Clinical translation and manufacturing of diagnosis and therapeutic nanomaterials
