About this Research Topic
The present Research Topic aims to collect original research and review papers on latest use of probiotics or fermented diet, including metagenomics and metabolomics, in microbiology, with regard to research focusing on the microbial community diversity and structure of fermented diet regulated by probiotics, and the gut microbiome and immune system modulated by probiotics or fermented diet in healthy animals from researchers working in the field of food microbiology and gut microbiome. The Topic will also cover the isolation and identification of functional probiotics from fermented diet and gut, and the activities and influences of isolated probiotics in fermented diet and gut microbiome will also be collected.
We welcome submissions including original research articles, and reviews that contribute innovative knowledge to the following but not limited to potential research topics:
• Identification of functional probiotics and the activities of isolated probiotics in fermented diet.
• Exploring the impacts of probiotics in gut microbiome structure and function.
• Examining the relationship between fermented diet and gut microbiome structure and/or function.
Keywords: Probiotics, Fermented profiles, Microbiome, Metabolome, Host health
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
