About this Research Topic
Reviews and Advances in Metastasis will publish high-quality scholarly review papers on key areas relating to this cancer progression; including the tumor microenvironment (TME), cell signaling and cellular interactions. Reviews and Advances in Metastasis aim to highlight recent advances in the field, whilst emphasizing important directions and new possibilities for future inquiries. We encourage submissions from early-career researchers and emerging independent investigators.
Sub-Topics of this collection include, but are not limited to:
• mechanisms and genetic regulation of metastatic initiation.
• role of tumor microenvironment in regulation of cancer initiation and progression.
• identification of targetable vulnerabilities of metastatic progression.
• regulation and mechanisms of cell cycle and apoptosis.
• metabolic plasticity of cancer cells in metastatic progression
• metabolic interchange between cancer and stroma
New articles will be added to this collection as they are published.
Please note: studies consisting solely of bioinformatic investigation of publicly available genomic/transcriptomic/proteomic data do not fall within the scope of the section unless they are expanded and provide significant biological or mechanistic insight into the process being studied.

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
