About this Research Topic
Focused on ecology, environment and sustainable development problems of fragile areas, this research topic will aim to increase the scientific knowledge of the environment, the ecological-social couplings, material cycles and ecological service functions. We are interested in applying this knowledge to monitor and assess the sustainable development status of global ecologically fragile areas, so as to put forward suggestions and a road map of sustainable development.
The potential scope for this research topics are as follows (but not limited to these):
● The evolution and service maintenance mechanism of the structure, composition and ecological function of the earth's critical zone in the surface earth system;
● Advanced simulator of ecosystem change and cutting-edge technology of change detection;
● Models and methods for monitoring and evaluating indicators of sustainable development of ecological change;
● Vulnerability and resilience of surface Earth systems and the Sustainable Development Goals;
● SDGs implementation approaches and sustainable development models that support the coordination between regional environment and social economy.
Keywords: ecological change, sustainable development indicators, monitoring and evaluation
