About this Research Topic
The purpose of this Research Topic is to add to the growing body of research around return to sport rehabilitation and testing in athletes recovering from various sports related injuries. We intend to provide insights on a broad range of injuries and the return to sport training and testing considerations. This issue will include original research and clinical perspectives concerning late stage rehabilitation, transitioning from rehabilitation to performance, and return to sport testing. Experts with clinical/research backgrounds in various different patient populations will be invited to contribute to this special issue.
We welcome submissions that address the following specific sub themes:
• Strategies that enhance outcomes and reduce re-injury risk
• Explosive exercise
• Training load
• Psychological readiness in return to sport
• Re-training of sport-specific movement patterns
• Influence of fatigue
• Return to sport tests
• Sport-specific rehabilitation
