About this Research Topic
To this end, Frontiers in Sociology is organizing a series of Research Topics to highlight the latest advancements in the field. This editorial initiative, led by Prof. Sin Yi Cheung, Specialty Chief Editor of the Race and Ethnicity section, together with Dr. Saffron Karlsen and Dr. Laia Becares, is focused on new insights, novel developments, current challenges, recent advances, and future perspectives in the field of race and ethnicity.
The Research Topic solicits brief, forward-looking contributions from editorial board members that either describe the state of the art or highlight the changes needed to move the field forward. Authors are encouraged to identify the greatest challenges in the sub-disciplines, and how to address those challenges.
The goal of this special edition Research Topic is to shed light on the progress made in the past decade in the race and ethnicity field and on its future challenges to provide a thorough overview of the state of the art of the race and ethnicity field. This article collection will inspire, inform, and provide direction and guidance to researchers in the field.
