About this Research Topic
While much research has been done on the efficacy of disease management interventions, most have been conducted at localized levels. More work is needed to evaluate population-level policies to address this growing public health threat.
The Editors encourage manuscripts addressing issues related to any of the following topics that may improve population health and reduce the societal cost burden:
- disease management
- managed care
- care coordination
- accountable care
- financing or payment models
- or other delivery model innovations
These could be in the context of any country's public or private healthcare system, including Medicaid or Medicare in the USA. Preference will be given for research related to vulnerable populations such as the disabled, minorities, children, the frail elderly / oldest old, and those living in rural areas.
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
